Matrix Vehicle Tracking is established and starts trading on 1 June 1996, holding company is TeliMatrix
1997
Control Instruments (CI) OmniBridge established. Signs exclusive deal with Siemens VDO to design and develop the "Fleet Manager” product range, branded VDO and sold by Siemens worldwide.
Matrix Vehicle Tracking seperates from Control Instruments end of September and becomes distributor of VDO Fleet Manager product range in South Africa.
2007
May: Control Instruments acquires Siemens VDO UK Trading’s Fleet Division and gains access to Siemens VDO’s global distribution Network.
October: TeliMatrix acquires OmniBridge and merges the business with Matrix Vehicle Tracking.
November: TeliMatrix lists on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
2008
April: TeliMatrix acquires Tripmaster Corporation
July: TeliMatrix acquires SafeDrive International
September: TeliMatrix renames to MiX Telematics. MiX = Mobile Information Exchange, signifying the birth of a new global leader.
