Figures just announced demonstrate that a collaborative programme of risk reduction, developed by bus operator RATP London United and MiX Telematics, has been a major contributor to a significantly improved safety record. The operator has seen a 21 percent reduction in personal injury claims since the start of the programme in August 2009.
The risk reduction programme combines in-vehicle monitoring and targeted driver training, while incorporating the well-known MiX Telematics RIBAS device. In addition to a reduction in personal injury claims, the company also succeeded in achieving a 10 percent improvement in fuel efficiency, a 30 percent reduction in harsh acceleration and an 11 percent reduction in harsh braking.
